Buon giorno!

I just returned home from an amazing vacation to Rome, Florence, and Venice with my sister and all I can say is that Italy is an enchanted country! Wow what an experience we had. We saw as many monuments and historical places as possible, but also enjoyed getting lost and finding our way back to our temporary homes in each of these spectacular places. It seemed that with every turn a new glorious vision opened up before us. I’m apologizing in advance for all the pictures I will be posting. It’s just so hard not to click away when you’re there.
I’m still coming down from my blissful high. I can’t say that any of these cities held a heavier place in my heart because they are all so vastly different from the next. Rome is so ancient and mind-blowing, Florence is so spectacularly beautiful and full of art in many forms, and Venice is, well, the most unusual and crazy-beautiful city I’ve seen. I don’t know if it’s the water energy that makes it so profound or its fighting spirit that you sense just walking the little cobbled streets navigating around sinking walls. Ending our travels there was a perfect way to conclude our visit – though we didn’t want to say good bye to any of these places. It is easy to say that the unifying force in Italy’s dramatically different cultures is its friendly citizens (we met such wonderful people), and of course the food and amazing Italian wines. I was shocked to discover when I got home that even though I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted I somehow ended up losing weight?! Go figure?! I guess that’s the beauty of travel and de-stressing.
More to come, but for now I’ll bid you ciao ciao and amore.
