I love these shrubs, and so does my dog. They’re called Ballerina Hawthorne and they’re planted everywhere in my town. They only bloom these pretty pink flowers in the Springtime, and for the rest of the year they are a hardy drought resistant evergreen bush. In April, when they are in bloom along our walking path, my dog has to stop and smell each and every flower. I’m not kidding, he literally buries his head deep into the pink blooms and has the most contented expression on his face. It’s really funny to watch and I just allow extra time on our walk now to give him a moment to savor his senses. It’s a good reminder for me as well to stop and appreciate the simple things.
